Do you remember what were you doing the week beginning Monday 27 October 2003? Rachel Wilson, Phil Mosley, Andrew Wood, Elizabeth Johnson a host of YFC members throughout Yorkshire and a giant Yorkshire Pudding will probably never forget!!

It was the start of a very interesting(?), enjoyable(?) and certainly entertaining week. The Giant Yorkshire Pudding was going on tour – to help promote Yorkshire YFC (with a little help from Aunt Bessies, York & Ripon Mitsubishi and Swillington Trailers).

It started its journey from Countryside Live in Harrogate and during the following week managed to visit every district within the boundaries of the Yorkshire Federation at least once! Somewhere along the way it even managed to get kidnapped and held to ransom. Fortunately, due in no small part to Terry Wogan, the pudding was returned to its rightful place on the specially commissioned Pudmobile and Mitsubishi towing vehicle, relatively unharmed physically (though heaven knows what its mental state was after being found in Lancashire!).

Joking apart it certainly captured people’s imagination and brought YFC members out in force to meet and greet the Pudding. Above all it created laughter and enthusiasm which will hopefully encourage our members onto greater things.
