A successful Northern Area Weekend was held in Durham with over 100 members representing Yorkshire. Congratulations to the Junior Public Speaking Team from Settle and the Worth Valley basketball team who were placed first. Richard Senior from Cawthorne was once again the winner of the best actor award in the Drama competition. Congratulations also to the Yorkshire Senior Debating Team (from Ebor and Cledales) and Craven’s Intermediate Brainstrust team who were both placed second and qualify to the National finals also. Well done to Ian Sedgwick, Burton and Peter Garbutt, Great Smeaton who was placed 2nd and 3rd in the Member of the Year Competition. Unfortunately despite all these successes the overall points total was not enough to secure the overall trophy which this year went to Cumbria.
