YORKSHIRE AT COMPETITIONS DAY 2007

Several of the 2006/07 National Finals took place at Stafford. Members from all corners of the County travelled down to take part in various competitions including Basketball, Floral Art, Recycled Pallet Making and Public Speaking. Everyone should be congratulated for reaching a National Final whether through Northern Area or direct from County

Congratulations to Amy Crabtree from Farnley Estate who was placed 1st in the Intermediate Floral Art Competition. Amy was first out of 26 competitors.

Well done to Anna Stockil from Winksley cum Grantley who after winning the Northern Area round of the Junior Member of the Year competition was place third in the National finals. Also placed third in the Junior Nature Challenge were Emma Foster and Hayley Webster from Winksley cum Grantley.

Worth Valley's Basketball team were placed third and another third place went to the Senior Debating team Joanne Peacock from Northerllarton, John Butler and Sarah Hinchliffe from Escrick and Mike Barker and Andy Stonehouse from Thirsk.

Congratulations to all members, who by just being there, has awarded Yorkshire points in the overall team trophy.
